Matthew D. Pickell is a senior Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) leader and co-founder of Sicor Risk Solutions, bringing more than two decades of experience, strengthening organizational resilience across mining, aerospace, manufacturing, and global corporate environments.  Known as a pragmatic change agent, he has built a career on reducing risk, elevating regulatory compliance, management system excellence, and driving sustainable improvements without disrupting operational performance. A Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) and U.S. Army veteran, he’s led cross‑functional sustainability initiatives, improved reporting accuracy, and trained thousands of employees in SafeStart and other EH&S programs. His leadership helps organizations strengthen internal controls, accelerate environmental performance, reduce injury rates, enhance internal processes, and align local operations with corporate goals and objectives.

Matt is recognized for his “trusted advisor” approach of coaching leaders. He has held progressive leadership roles as a corporate internal auditor, regional and site-level EH&S management, and enterprise assurance functions across North America and international operations. His experience includes leading and executing global internal audits across more than 20 countries on six (6) continents, including mergers and acquisitions, conducting corporate investigations, and advising executive leadership on governance, compliance, and risk exposure. He is particularly skilled in auditing, implementing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems, as well as aligning sustainability and environmental programs with operational realities.

Throughout his career, Matt has delivered measurable results, including significant reductions in workers’ compensation costs, recordable injury rates, and environmental risk exposure. He has successfully led OSHA engagements, regulatory negotiations, corrective action programs, and has negotiated substantial reductions in proposed regulatory penalties through disciplined compliance strategies and regulatory engagement. His hands-on leadership style emphasizes data-driven decision-making, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.

In addition to his operational leadership, Matt is an experienced trainer and communicator, having developed and delivered safety training programs, digital training content, and internal audit education across diverse workforces. At Sicor Risk Solutions, Matt partners directly with clients as a trusted advisor—providing auditing, program development, risk assessment, and executive-level guidance to help organizations build resilient safety systems and sustainable compliance frameworks.

Richard A. Cheatheam, CSP is a senior Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional and co-founder of Sicor Risk Solutions bringing more than 25 years of deep operational expertise and a proven record of elevating safety performance and regulatory compliance across the oil and gas, manufacturing, pipeline, and industrial sectors. A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and U.S. Army veteran, Richard is known for delivering practical, field-ready solutions that reduce risk while aligning safety initiatives with operational and business objectives.

Rick has led corporate HSE programs for complex, multi-site organizations across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and West Africa, providing strategic oversight for safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and workforce engagement.  Rick managed regional teams, led international project safety efforts—including a major Chevron initiative in Ghana—and contributed to corporate strategy as a member of the company’s HSE Technical Committee.  His experience includes OSHA- and ISO-based auditing, incident investigation and root cause analysis, risk assessments, contractor qualification management, hazardous waste managemet, and environmental compliance programs. He has served as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state authorities, supporting inspections, permitting, and compliance reporting.

A skilled instructor and communicator, he has trained thousands of workers and corporate leaders in behavior‑based safety, PEC SafeLand & H2S Clear, Human Performance, and OSHA‑aligned programs. His hands‑on, instructional approach reflects his military foundation, where he supervised hazardous materials operations, delivered NBC readiness training, and ensured mission‑critical equipment safety.

Throughout his career, Rick has demonstrated a strong record of measurable results, including significant reductions in recordable incident rates, improved audit performance, and strengthened safety culture through behavior-based and human performance initiatives. As a trusted advisor to corporate leadership teams, he partners with clients to develop and implement HSE programs that are effective, sustainable, and tailored to real-world operating environments.
